Mound Printing Announces the Addition of Resolution Green 15 to its Expanding Environmental Stewardship Program
As the Green movement gathers momentum corporate environmental responsibility issues are coming to the forefront. To meet the needs of our customers and the environment, Mound Printing is excited announce its next step Environmental Responsibility, Green 15. The implementation of the Green 15 principles augments Mound Printing’s FSC Certification. Obtained January 4, 2008, Mound is proud to be the first commercial printing firm in the Dayton, OH area to meet the standards necessary to be able to attain FSC Certification.
What is Green 15?
The Green 15 Resolution is a list of guidelines issued by the DMA outlining practices that should be adopted by marketers and direct mail suppliers to help reduce the impact on the environment due to direct mail. The DMA outlines 15 areas of business practices businesses should closely evaluate including usage of recycled paper from properly managed forests, List Hygiene and Data Management to reduce undeliverable mail, Production Practices, Environmentally Preferable Packaging and company-wide efforts to reduce pollution and waste.
While the DMA has plans to promote Green 15 and establish target goals more publicly in June of this year Mound is proud to have already incorporated Green 15 into their daily business practices and solutions they provide customers. “Our customers are becoming increasing more aware of their company’s environmental footprint and we have to be prepared to meet those needs,” said Dennis Riggs, Vice President of Mound Printing Company. “We’re excited that we can provide customers a variety of solutions to meet their needs, while also enabling them to be environmentally conscious.”
What is FSC Certification?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the global standard for responsible forest management. Chain-of-Custody certification guarantees that the wood that comes from certified, responsibly managed forests is tracked throughout the supply chain from the forest to consumer. Using FSC certified paper, directly supports the use of responsibly managed forests worldwide. By selecting a FSC certified printer customers have access to these papers and can also display the FSC logo on printed products which tells the world that you support the highest social and environmental standards in the market.
